This piece began as something else entirely <3 Mona Lizza and I spent a loooong time together...and not always gently. There were layers, revisions, moments of doubt. But I stayed with her.

I trusted the process even when I couldn’t see where we were going.And then, at some point, she arrived. Letting her go was its own practice. She taught me that the painting is never really lost. It just moves on to where it belongs.
